The Niceguys deliver a fresh take on "2 Funky," one of the standout tracks from Beat Le Juice's acclaimed Space Cadillac EP. The original version was a full-on bass assault, with powerful guitar hooks and soaring synths providing a rich foundation for the anthemic vocals. Now, The Niceguys have put their musicality stamp on the track, reimagining it with a masterful touch that brings a whole new energy.
The Swiss production outfit have upped the tempo and transformed "2 Funky" into an expertly crafted slice of modern funk. Blending piano hooks, live bass lines, and the classic talk box with the soulful vocal stylings of Mr. Maph and deft flow of Everyman.
The Niceguys: "EVeryman's rap hooked us immediately and reminded us of the “golden era” of rap. We wanted to pick up on this vibe and focus on it without being too bold or relying on overly illustrative stereotypes. Of course, it was also important to implement and underline the message of the track “the meaning of funk” instrumentally, which was very easy for us to realize with the great basis of the original, as we all live with and for funk."
